Black Friday online 2023

Black Friday 2023

Black Friday has become a day of special shopping deals and discounts, and is said to mark the beginning of the holiday shopping season. The sales figures from Black Friday are often considered a sign of the overall economic health of the country and a way for economists to measure the confidence of the average consumer when it comes to their discretionary spending. Retailers may spend an entire year planning their Black Friday sales and Black Friday advertisements are often so highly anticipated that retailers go to great lengths to ensure they don't leak out publicly beforehand.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are among the most recognized sales events globally, with 95% and 86% awareness, respectively. In 2023 consumers are planning to spend an average of $567 during the 2 shopping events, up 13% from 2022

An estimated 182 million people are planning to shop from Thanksgiving Day through Cyber Monday, the most since 2017, according to the National Retail Federation; 74% of consumers say they intend to take advantage of deals during November sales events this year—an increase of 7 percentage points versus 2022

As a consequence of inflation, consumers are changing their buying habits. More than 50% said that they have cut back on non-essential purchases in the past few months, 49% check and compare prices more frequently, and 41% buy in tight relation to deals and promotions. Over 60% of consumers stated they start actively researching deals earlier since October
